Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Project Huck LLC (“Project Huck,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Project Huck mobile app and projecthuck.com (together, the “Service”).
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Account information — email address, chosen handle, display name, primary sport and discipline, skill level, and (optionally) a profile photo and cover image.
- Home spot / location you set — the riding location you choose, including its coordinates, used to show local conditions. You may enter any location or a custom spot.
- Progression data — logged sessions, tricks attempted and landed, Huck Points, streaks, goals, and session plans.
- Content you post — video clips, captions, comments, tips, crew posts, and reactions.
- Account-type / verification info — if you request a pro/brand designation, the contact details you submit.
- Support communications — anything you send us at support@projecthuck.com.
Information collected automatically:
- Device and usage data — device model, operating-system version, app version, language, and in-app activity used to operate and improve the Service.
- Approximate/precise location — only when you enable location to auto-detect spots or record a session route; you control this via your device permissions.
- Diagnostics — crash reports and performance data.
Information from purchases:
- When you subscribe to Huck+, Apple processes the payment. We (through our subscription provider, RevenueCat) receive your subscription status and transaction identifiers. We never receive your full payment-card number.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide, personalize, and operate the Service (progression tracking, planning, conditions, social features).
- Maintain your account, subscription entitlements, and preferences.
- Show community content and enable Crews, clips, comments, and following.
- Provide riding conditions for your chosen spots.
- Analyze usage to fix bugs and improve features.
- Communicate with you about the Service, updates, and support.
- Protect the Service, enforce our Terms, and comply with law.
3. Content You Post, and Our Right to Use It
When you post content (including video clips, captions, and comments), it may be visible to other users according to your settings. You grant Project Huck a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt, and distribute that content to operate the Service, and to use it to promote and advertise the Service — including in marketing materials and across other Project Huck platforms, apps, and channels. You can delete your content or account at any time; deletion removes it from active use going forward (see Section 7). This license is described in more detail in our Terms of Service.
4. How We Share Information
- With other users — your profile, public clips, comments, and progression you choose to share are visible to others per your settings.
- With service providers (processors) who operate the Service on our behalf:
- Supabase — backend database, authentication, and media storage.
- RevenueCat — subscription management; Apple — in-app purchase processing.
- Sentry — crash and error diagnostics.
- Mapbox — maps and spot imagery.
- Open-Meteo — wind/swell conditions data.
- Email/notification providers for account and transactional messages.
- For legal reasons — to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect rights, safety, and security.
- In a business transfer — as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- We do not sell your personal information.
5. Your Choices
- Location — control location access in your device settings.
- Notifications — control push notifications in your device settings.
- Profile visibility & content — manage what you share in the app.
- Marketing email — unsubscribe via any marketing message.
- Access/deletion — see Section 7.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (including encryption in transit and access controls) to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete your account in-app (Settings → account deletion), which removes your account and associated personal data from active systems, subject to limited retention required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, financial records). You may also request deletion at support@projecthuck.com.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact support@projecthuck.com and we will delete it.
9. Location of Processing
Project Huck is based in the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States. By using the Service you understand your information is handled in the U.S.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be posted here with an updated “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, in-app notice.
